The Niles Daily Star carried the obituary of Dixie Lockamy on 09 Jan 1995:  “ 
Dixie R. Lockamy 1923-1995 nurses aid, Berrien General Hospital  Funeral 
services for Dixie R. Lockamy, 71, of 717 Rynearson, Apt. 4, Buchanan, will be 
Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Swem Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in New Troy 
Cemetery in New Troy.  She died Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at home.  Mrs. Lockamy 
was born May 5, 1923, at Maynard, Ark.  On Oct. 5, 1940, at New Madron, Mo., 
she married Floyd E. Lockamy, who died Dec. 30, 1985.  Mrs. Lockamy was 
employed as a nurses aid at Berrien General Hospital in Berrien Center.  
Survivors include a daughter, Pat Herr of Eau Claire; three sons, Gene and 
Kenneth, both of Buchanan, and Robert Lockamy of Galien; thirteen 
grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Arvena Brackett of 
New Troy, Cona Dhane of Val Alstyne, Texas, and Mazie Lester of n, Ark.  A 
daughter, Barbara Peters died in 1991, and a son, John Lockamy died in 1976.  
Visitation will be today from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be 
made to Hospice at Home.”  Note:  Cona Dhane lived in Van Alstyne not Val 
Alstyne, Texas.  There is something missing in the residence of Mazie Lester 
of n, Ark. and it should read of Corning, Ark.
