Rev. W.F. Boettcher officiating. Interment was made in the oak Ridge cemetery. Obituary Thomas Alonzo Marsh was born in Bertrand township Berrien Co., Michigan, April 8, 1852. He was united in marriage to Margaret Fedore on Oct. 13, 1878. To his union were born 6 sons and 3 daughters. He was converted and united with the Evangelical church of Buchanan in 1897, under the pastorate of Rev. F.C. Burger, and remained faithful to the end. Mr. Marsh spent his entire life in this community and state as a respected citizen and neighbor. Three sons and one daughter precede him in death. Mr. Marsh lived to a good old age. His health has been in his favor. About two years ago his health began to fail and for over a year he was confined to his home The end came Saturday morning Nov. 4, at his home, where he has resided for 36 yers. He leaves to mourn, his widow, three sons, Willard, of Bendon[sic], George and Henry of Buchanan; two daughters, Mrs. Anna May Conrad and Mrs. Mabel Keller; twenty grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Nettie Pitcher of Buchanan; a nephew in Washington, D.C. and a host of friends. * * Niles Daily Star, Monday, November 6, 1933, page 5, col. 2, microfilm Niles District Library Hold Thomas Marsh Funeral on Tuesday BUCHANAN, NOv. 6--Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon for Thomas Alonzo Marsh, 81 year-old pioneer of the Wagner district, who died Saturday in the farm home where he had lived for the last 36 years. Prayer services will be held at the home at 1:30 o'clock, with the funeral services at 2:30 o'clock in Buchanan Evangelical church, with the Rev. W.F. Boettcher officiating. Mr. Marsh's entire life had been spent in the community. He was born on the Marsh homestead in Bertrand township on April 8, 1852, the son of Alonzo Marsh, Bertrand township pioneer. He was married on Oct. 13 1878, to Margaret Fedore and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last month. Surviving, besides the widow, are three sons, the Rev. Willard Marsh, Benton, Ind.; George, Buchanan; and Henry at home; two daughters, Mrs. William Keller and Mrs. Manual Conrad, Buchanan; and a half-sister, Mrs. Nettie Lister Pitcher, Buchanan.
