Niles Democrat, Sat. July 30, 1881, page 3

Joseph McClung, for many years a citizens of Niles, died at Mason, Ohio, July
18th.  Mr. McClung was a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and came west many years
ago to seek his fortune, and was quite successful in accumulating considerable
property.  His death resulted from consumption, of which he has  been ailing for
the past several years.
