MOULTON was the daughter of Benoni and Eliza Newell. She was born near Elmira, New York, July 2, 1835, and, with her father’s family, moved to Laporte county, Ind. in 1838. They soon after moved to Berrien county, Mich. where she grew up to young womanhood. In 1856, she went to New York to attend school, where she met and was married to John B. Moulton. The moved to Michigan in 1860, where they lived under 1862, when they moved to Laporte, Ind., where, in 1863, she united with the Methodist Episcopal church. In 1869, they moved to Buchanan, where they have since lived, until the time of her sudden death, which occurred Friday morning, Dec. 6, 1895. She leaves, beside her husband, three children, Mrs. Willis Weaver, Mr. Claude Moulton and Miss Lou Moulton, and three brothers and one sister to mourn their loss. She was a faithful, loving wife and mother, and a follower of Christ. Her death will be mourned, not only by her family, but also by her relatives, and those of her friends and neighbors who knew her best. The funeral services were held from her late residence on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 2 o’clock p.m., and were conducted by Rev. O.J. Roberts, and interment made in Oak Ridge cemetery.
