Son of Joseph and Maria Nutt, he was born Nov. 30, 1851, in Green county, and moved here with his parents in 1860 when they staked a claim on a 350 –acre tract of government land and started farming. He was married to Miss Alice Clark near Comstock in 1876, and after her death in 1928 he lived in his home at 111 West Fourth street until three years ago when his health failed and he went to live with his son. Three grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. The body is in the Swem funeral home where the services will be held Friday afternoon at 2. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
