Aug. 25, 1964 WORD RECEIVED BUCHANAN—Word has been received of the death of a former Buchanan resident, William Nutt, 84, of Huntington Park, Calif., who died Sunday in Henry Ford Hospital, Dearborn. He was born May 22, 1880, in Barry County, and as a small boy moved to Buchanan, where he was of the first employes of the Cel-For Tool Company, today the Clark Equipment Company. In 1921, Mr. Nutt was ordained as a minister in the Evangelical Church. He served as pastor of the West Unity, Ohio, Church and later as pastor of the Cloverdale Evangelical Church. He retired from the ministry in 1931 and founded the William Nutt and Sons Company in Dearborn. The company became one of the largest rebuilders of auto engines in the country. Mr. Nutt retired as president of the company in 1949 and moved to California. He is survived by his widow, Florence; one son, Howard of Pompano Beach, Calif; and two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Lewis and Mrs. Lois McGarvey, both of Dearborn; eight grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, Dearborn, with the Rev. B. Stephens, pastor of the Dearborn Evangelical Church officiating. The body will be taken to Buchanan where graveside services will be conducted at Oak Ridge Cemetery at 4 p.m. Wednesday. (Source: Niles Daily Star, Tues.
