Olmstead, an old resident of Three Oaks, passed away at her home on South Elm Street last night (Wednesday). Mrs. Olmstead had been in very poor health for some time, although able to get about up to the time of her death, which came after a very short illness. A full obituary will appear in the next week’s issue of the Acorn. The Acorn, Sept. 24, 1925, page 1, col. 2 Helen S. Olmstead Helen S. Olmstead passed away on September 17, in her 81st year. She was born in Port Bryon, New York, and moved to Illinois when 12 years of age. She was married to Mr. Olmstead on January 13, 1885. Funeral services were held at the home and were conduced[sic] by Rev. Thomsa[sic] Rice. Burial was at Port Bryon, New York. Additional Comments: Helen Stevenson Olmstead was a charter member of the Rebecca Dewey Chapter of the DAR founded in Three Oaks in 1909. She was the wife of Milburn (Melbourne) H. Olmstead.
