Michigan City Evening Dispatch 18 Jan 1938 (Michigan City, IN)
PALEN, Mary Ann, 87, a resident of New Buffalo for more than 39 years, died 
last night at 7:40 after an illness of two years from a complication of 
ailments.  
Mrs. Palen was born in Ohio, Aug. 20, 1850.  SHe was a member of the local 
Methodist Church.  Services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the local 
M.E. Church, Rev. Henry Dobberton and Rev. Donald C. Ford conducting the 
services.  Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo. 
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. John Pflughaupt, and Mrs. Augusta 
Buell, Michigan City, and Mrs. Louis Hepler, New Buffalo, and son Charles, New 
Buffalo, and 12 grandchildren.  Her husband, two daughters, three sisters, and 
one brother preceded her in death
