E. Parkhurst Mrs. Catherine E. Parkhurst was born Sept. 22, 1835, in Beavertown, Pa., and passed away Feb. 5, 1920, at her home in Berrien Spirngs, Michigan. She had been an invalid for the past five years and confined to her bed since lst November. She had been a resident of this village for the past twenty-seven years. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church and when health permitted was always in attendance at church services. She was also a loyal member of Major Murdoch Circle, Ladies of the G.A.R. She leaves one son, Newton J. Houston of Lucerne, Colorado, three daughters, Mrs. Agnes Schoonmaker of Three Rivers, Mrs. Ella Gentzler of Moorepark, Michigan, Miss Cora B. Parkhurst of Berrien Springs, and one sister, Mrs. Savilla Gibboney of East Waterford, Pa. The funeral service was held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.H. Bancroft, and the body was taken the next day to Three Rivers, Michigan, her former home, for interment.
