John C. Quint, one of the oldest citizens of this township[Buchanan], died at
his home in the northern part of the township, Saturday, Jan. 27, 1889, aged 89
years, 2 months, and 23 days.  Deceased was  born in Anson, Somerset county,
Maine, Nov. 8, 1799; was married to Abigail Bickford, Nov. 16, 1818; came to
Michigan in May, 1854, and has resided on the farm where he died thirty-two
years.  He leaves an aged widow, three sons and three daughters.  The son and
one daughter are in the west, and were not present at the funeral.  The remains
were brought to Oak Ridge cemetery, in this place, Sunday for interment.
