Jan 21, 1943, page 1 Aged Resident Dies; Services Here Today Robert Robinson, 83, a resident of this vicinity for many years, died at 10:30 o’clock Tuesday forenoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Brookings. He had been ill the past eight months. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Griner mortuary. Rev. John O. Hagans of the Methodist church officiated at the rites and Mrs. Hagans sang “The Old Rugged Cross.” Burial was made in the Bridgman cemetery. Casket bearers were six grandsons, Arnold Kettlehut, Ray Wetzel, Merle Stemm, Jr., Victor Rodell, Arthur Wagner and Robert Robinson. Mr. Robinson was born November 15, 1859, at Toronto, Canada. He came to Berrien county with his parents when he was 12 years old, the family settling on a farm near Bridgman. On March 26, 1884, he was united in marriage with Miss Sarah Grice of Bridgman, who survives him. Besides the widow, survivors include one son, Alva Robinson of Berrien Cetner; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Wetzel, Mrs. Bessie Stemm and Mrs. Lenna Brooking of Berrien Springs, and Mrs. Edna Searles of Chicago; 13 grandchildren and nine grsat-grandchildren. There is one sister, Mrs. Alice Shuler of Bridgman. One son, Albert Robinson, died in 1910.
