Herald Palladium 05 Dec 1986
The Herald Palladium carried an obituary for Amalie (Hauch) Schultz on 05 Dec 
1986 and it reads:  “Amalie Schultz A former Benton Harbor woman, Mrs. Amalie 
Schultz, 97, died this morning at Martin Luther Memorial Home, South Haven, 
where she had resided for four years.  Friends may call at Kerley & Starks 
Funeral Home, St. Joseph, after 2 p.m. Sunday.  The funeral will be held 
Monday at 2 p.m. at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, Benton Harbor, of which she 
was a member.  Burial will be in Crystal Springs Cemetery.  Memorials may be 
made to the church or the nursing home.  Mrs. Schultz was born Jan. 4, 1889, 
in Volinia, Russia.  She and her late husband, Ralph, were fruit farmers in 
the Twelve Corners area for many years.  He preceded her in death in 1964.  
Survivors include a son, Ray of Coloma; one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Marquardt 
of Benton Harbor; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.  She was 
also preceded in death by two daughters-Madeline Schaub in 1964 and Norma 
Langer in 1976.”
