Mrs. Jessie W. Scott
1880-1956

	Mrs. Jessie W. Scott, 76, of 517 West Main Street, mother of Miss Hester Scott,
principal at Westside School, died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday in her home following
an extended illness.
	Mrs. Scott was born Jan. 23, 1880, in NIles. Her husband, Harry, preceded her
in death in April 1953.  Surviving besides her daughter are: a son, Walter W.
Scott, superintendent of schools in Holland, Mich., and three grandchilrden. She
was a member of the First Methodist Church.
	The body was removed from the Pifer Funeral Home today to the family residence
on West Main Street where friends may call after 5 p.m. Prayer services will b
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the residence with the Rev. J.W. Hill, pastor
of the First Evangelical United Brethern church, officiating. Funeral services
will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Portage Prairie Church with the Rev. L. George
Beacock, pastor fo the First Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in
Portage Prairie Cemetery.
