The Berrien County record carried the obituary of Marjorie Shepardson on 31 
Jan 2008:  “ Marjorie L. Shepardson Galien-Marjorie L. Shepardson, 78, of 
Galien, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008 in her home.  She was born Jan. 4, 1930 in 
Weesaw Township, the daughter of the late Walter and Cora (Upton) Brackett.  
She retired from Galien Schools after working as a custodian for 27 years.  In 
1951 she married Ellis 'Bub' Shepardson in Glendora.  He preceded her in 
death.  Surviving are a daughter, Kay Shepardson of Glaien; sons, guy 
Shepardson and John Shepardson of Galien; Dean Shepardson of Baroda; sisters, 
Dona Jackson of Mineral Wells, Texas and Carroll (Jim) Stuckey of Buchanan; 
brothers, Jack Brackett of Three Oaks and Bob (Millie) Brackett of 
Shelbyville, Mo.; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  The 
funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan 29, 2008 at Swem Funeral Home.  Burial 
followed at Galien Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Community of Christ 
Chruch, c/o Miki Armstrong (CFO) 16809 Runyon Rd., Buchanan, MI 49107.”  
Note:  Cora Brackett’s maiden name was Upson not Upton.
