DAISY STEPHENS Mrs. Daisy Winifred Stephens, 56, died at 7 o’clock last Thursday evening. She was ill for about two years, but was seriously ill for the last two months. Mrs. Stephens was born, March 27, 1882 at Avery, near Three Oaks. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Noah Payne. May 25, 1903, she was married to Edgar Stephens. They have always lived in or near this village. Mrs. Stephens is survived by her husband and six children, Noah, Katherine, Hildred, Leonard, Ulmont and Lloyd, also 8 grandchildren, one brother, Allen of Detroit, her mother, Mrs. Sophia Payne of Three Oaks. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services were held in the Connelly chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday. The sermon was given by Rev. Mrs. W. H. Hurd. Mrs. Ted Hellenga sang and was accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Wilbur Warren. Pall bearers were: D. Maloy, John Akin, Geo. Portinga, John Ritzler, Bert stavenger and Wm. Klute.
