He was born near Elmira, N.Y.; lived in Ontario county in that state for several years and then removed to Indiana. From there he came to this place about 30 years ago. His wife died nearly fifteen years ago and his two sons both live in Washington territory. His daughters, Mrs. Miller of Buchanan and Mrs. Richardson of So. Haven, with their husbands, were present at the funeral, which occurred Sunday from the Methodist church, Rev. W. J. Hathaway conducting the services. Additional Comments: Name is variably spelled Simeon/Simon and Stevens/Stephens in census and other records. He is buried at Rose Hill cemetery with wife Experience.
