THREE OAKS PIONEER DIES AT AGE 92

Three Oaks-Mrs. Emeline C. (Emma) Thayer, 92 of 11 East Linden street, Three
Oaks, the oldest native born resident, died Wednesday morning in Memorial
hospital, St. Joseph, where she had been a patient since July 2.
	Mrs. Thayer was born Jan. 19, 1874, in Three Oaks, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Owen Churchill, Her father came to Three Oaks to practice medicine shortly after
the Civil War and had at one time operated one of the first drug stores in Three
Oaks.
	She was married to Ernest Thayer, an illustrator and designer, on Oct. 11,
1899, in Three Oaks.  He preceded her in death in 1906.  Two infant children and
two brothers also preceded her in death.
	Mrs. Thayer had been a very active member of the Three Oaks Congregational
church and the Mayflower Guild of the church for many years until her illness.
	In addition to her church work, she had always maintained an interest in civic
affairs and was an active member of the Rebecca Dewey chapter of the D.A.R.
	There are no known survivors.
	Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Three Oaks
Congregational church.  The Rev. Reginald Dryden, pastor, will officiate.
	Burial will follow in Forest Lawn cemetery, south of Three Oaks.
	The Connelly-Noble funeral home, Three Oaks, is in charge of arrangements,
where friends may call until noon Saturday.
