Van Riper, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 17, after a sickness of about two weeks, of inflammation of the brain, aged 22 years and six months. Miss Van Riper was born and reared in Cass county, and came to this place with her parents about two years ago, since which time she has been a great share of the time employed at T.M. Fulton’s store, and later at Drofoot Bros’, as clerk, where she made hosts of friends, who deemed her a most estimable young lady. The funeral was held at the house this afternoon. Her people have the heartfelt sympathy of the whole community, in their bereavement.
