Herald Palladium 23 Jan 2002
The Herald Palladium carried the obituary of David Zielke on 23 Jan 2002 and 
it reads:  “David J. Zielke Bridgman-David John Zielke, 41 of Houston, Texas, 
formerly of Bridgman, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at St. Luke’s 
Hospital, Houston.  Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be 
held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at Hills Corner Bible Baptist Church, 
Glendora.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 
Matthew Zielke Trust Fund, c/o Karla Zielke.  The family is being assisted 
locally by Boyd Funeral Home, a Kraig A. Pike Family Service in Bridgman.  
David was born July 14, 19060, the son of George and Loretta (Hauch) Zielke of 
Buchanan.  David was a 1978 graduate of Bridgman High School.  He was an avid 
fisherman.  Survivors include: his wife, Karla Zielke, and his son, Matthew 
Zielke; a sister, Donna VanTuyl; brother George Zielke Jr.; his grandmother, 
Emily Zielke; and several nieces and nephews.”  David is buried in the New 
Troy Cemetery.
