SAGER George H. Sager for the last 17 years has been comfortably located on a good farm in Bronson Township, where he cultivates 26 acres, and has a set of good frame buildings. He is a native of this township, and was born May 30, 1850. His parents, George and Emily J. (Blanchard) Sager, were natives of N.Y. State and pioneers of this county. A sketch of them will be found elsewhere in the Album. The subject of this sketch was the 5th of his parent' 10 children, ..... A few months after reaching his majority he was married, Oct. 11, 1871, to Miss Lucinda K. Swift, who was born in Macedon, Wayne Co., N.Y., Feb. 3, 1851, and is the daughter of Erastus W. and Melissa A. (Pelham) Swift, who were natives of N.Y. State, and of German and English ancestry. The parents of Mrs. Sager came to Michigan in 1851, taking the first boat which ventured out on Lake Erie that spring ..... the father carried on farming successfully, and departed this life in Nov. 1874. The mother survived less than a year, following her husband to the silent land in Jan. 1875. They were the parents of 11 children, of whom 8 still survive. Mr. & Mrs. Sager settled on their present farm in 1871, and are the parents of 2 children - Maurice J. and Lilly A.
