HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE ARTICLE ON DR. LEVI SANDERS

Dr. Levi Sanders, a physician and surgeon of good standing in the village of 
Bronson, has been numbered among its citizens since the spring of 1868.  He was 
graduated from Bennett College in Chicago, and subsequently attended a course 
of lectures in Michigan University, Ann Arbor.  He has spent the greater part 
of his life in the Wolverine State, of which he is a native, having been born 
in Gilead Township, this county, Dec. 21, 1840.

Josiah and Mary (Miller) Sanders, the parents of our subject, were natives of 
Ohio, the father of Welsh and English descent, and the mother of Dutch and 
Irish.  Their ancestors were pioneers of Virginia, North Carolina and Georgia.  
Their family consisted of eight children, of whom Levi, our subject, was the 
eldest born, and the others were Amos, Elizabeth, Rachel, Emma, Jessie, John, 
and Josiah, Jr.  Of these six are living, and two are residents of New Mexico, 
and four of Michigan.  The mother died in Gilead in May, 1864.  The father is 
yet living, and residing on the old homestead.

Dr. Sanders spent his boyhood under the home roof .... After completing his 
studies he was married, June 20, 1867, to Miss Lodema Jameson, who was born 
Aug. 14, 1843, in the State of New York, and is the daughter of James and 
Elizabeth (Davis) Jameson, also natives of that State.  The father is deceased; 
the mother is still living, in New York.  To the Doctor and his wife there have 
been born seven children, namely:  John R., Lois L., Lowell L., Emory, Bennie 
F., Erwin and Milton.
Our subject began the practice of his profession in Jamestown, Ind., on the 1st 
of April, 1863...........
