McMitt? of the Regiment of _____ at Bronson Mich on the 2nd day of August 1862, to serve 3 years; he was born in Chenango in the State of New York, is 25 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, light complexion, gray eyes, light hair, and by occupation when enlisted a farmer. Hull, deceased; that he died on the 3rd day of February, 1891; that he had been granted a pension by Certificate No. 51557 which is herewith returned (or if not, state why not); that he had been paid the pension by the Pension Agent at Detroit up to the 4th day of December 1890 after which date he had not been employed or paid in the Army, Navy or Marine service of the United States, except _____; that she was married to the said Marcus C. Hull on the 21th day of November 1859 at Coldwater in the State of Michigan; that her name before said marriage was Aurilia A. Jacobs; that she had not been previously married; that her husband had not been previously married; that she hereby makes application for the pension which had accrued on aforesaid certificate to the date of death; and that her residence is P.O. Hull aged 54 years, who, being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided by Acts of Congress granting pensions to widows; That she is the widow of Marcus C. Hull who enlisted under the name of Marcus C. Hull at Bronson in Branch Co Mich on the 12th day of August, A.D. 1862 in Company commanded by Capt. Chas. W. Bigelow 19th Reg Mich Inf for the war of 1861-65, who died Feby 3rd 1891 from effects of disease contracted in the army for which he was pensioned (Certificate #51557); that she was married under the name of Aurilia A. Jacobs to said Marcus C. Hull on the 21st day of November A.D. 1859, by W.W. Barrett at Coldwater Mich, there being no legal barrier to such marriage; that neither she nor her husband had been previously married; that she has to the present date remained his widow; that he, the said Marcus C. Hull left surviving no minor child or children by either herself or any former wife; that she has not in any manner been engaged in, or aided or abetted the rebellion in the United States; that no prior application has been filed; that her residence is Orangeville Mills Michigan and that her post office address is Orangeville Mills Barry Co Mich. Klingensmith residing at Orangeville Mills Mich, persons whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit, and who being by duly sworn, say that they were present and saw Aurelia A. Hull, the claimant, sign her name (make her mark) to the foregoing declaration; that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of said claimant and their acquaintance with her, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be; and that they have no interest in the prosecution of this claim. Eli Nichols Notary Public _____ Act of June 27, 1890 Declaration for Widow's Pension State of Michigan, County of Barry, ss: On this 17th day of December A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety 1, personally appeared before me, Oliver Chalker, a Justice of the Peace within and for the county and State aforesaid Aurelia A. Hull, aged 54 years, a resident of the township of Orangeville, county of Barry, State of Michigan, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of Marcus C. Hull, who enlisted under the name of Marcus C. Hull at _____, Branch Co on the twelfth day of August A.D. 1862 in Private Co. "G" 19th Regt. Inf Mich Vol and served at least ninety days in the late War of the Rebellion, who was HONORABLY DISCHARGED at Detroit, Mich May 20, 1865 and died Feb 3rd 1891. That she was married under the name of Aurelia A. Jacobs, to said Marcus C. Hull, on the 21st day of November 1859, by Circuit Court Commissioner at Coldwater, Branch Co, Mich there being no legal barrier to said marriage. There was no obstacle to marriage as they both were single and had not ever been married before see affidavits of file. That she has not remarried since the death of the said Marcus C. Hull. That she is without other means of support than her daily labor. That names and dates of birth of all the children now living under sixteen years of age of the soldier are as follows: (none listed) That she has heretofore applied for pension and the number of her former application is Entitled Wid No. 522046. That she makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the Act of June 27, 1890. She hereby appoints, with full power of substitution and revocation, Wm. W. Dudley, of Washington, D.C., her true and lawful attorney to prosecute her claim, the fee to be Ten Dollars as prescribed by law. Aug 17, 1892 Sir: It is alleged that Marcus C. Hull enlisted Aug 2, 1862 and served as a Priv in Co. G, 19th Reg't Mich Inf and was discharged at Detroit Mich May 20th 1865. It is also alleged that while on duty at Dallas, Ga on or about May 25th, 1864, he was disabled by a gunshot wound of left arm and was treated in hospitals which the names, locations and dates are as follows: none alleged. Please examine records of regimental and other hospitals as to treatment. In case of the above named solder the War Department is requested to furnish an official statement of the enrollment, discharge and record of service so far as the same may be applicable to the foregoing allegation, together with full medical history. Please give the rank he held at the time he is claimed to have incurred the disability alleged, and if records show that he was not in line of duty during that period, let the fact be stated. From Feb 9, 1864 to Aug 01, 1864 he held the rank of private and during that period the rolls show him present except as follows: Feb 29 '64 Brig Ambulance driver since Aug 10 '63. June 30 '64 wounded. May 25 '64 and sent to Hosptl Nashville, Tenn. Aug 31 '64 wounded in action at New Hope Church. Nat 25 '64 in Hosptl Nashville, Tenn. Hull &c treated May 25 to May 30, '64, G.S.W. left forearm frac ulna, severe at the battle of Dallas Woods; as Marcus C. Hull &c June 4 to July 8, '64 G.S.W. left ulna, wounded at Dallas, Ga. May 27, '64; as Marcus C. Hill Pr &c July 9 to Oct 28 '64, G.S.W. left arm comp. frac. ulna, wounded at Dallas; May 25 '64 furloughed Oct. 28, '64 returned Nov. 15 '64, transferred Aug. 10, '64 also shown as Marcus C. Hill &c furloughed Aug 30 '64 to Sept. 29 '64, returned from furlough Sept. 28, '64 and as Marcus C. Hill, Pr. Co G 19 Mich, transferred. Nov 26 '64; as Marcus C. Hull Pr. Co. G 19 Mich, Dec 1 '64 to Dec 17 '64 G.S. Wound fract left ulna upper third, wounded at Dallas, Ga May 25 1865, furloughed Dec 17 '64 and discharged from service May 20, 1865. Nothing additional found.
