Shawn Cory Blansit, age 34 of Coldwater died unexpectedly on April 28, 2005 at 
his home.
Mr. Blansit was born on April 20, 1971 in Battle Creek to Michael Prieur and 
Valarie (Millard) Prieur. He had been a long time resident of the Coldwater 
area. Mr. Blansit enjoyed his most recent job working as a CNA at the Laurels 
of Coldwater and had been looking forward to starting a career in Nursing.
Mr. Blansit enjoyed his free time taking part in various hobbies including; 
shooting pool, playing guitar, singing and spending time with family and 
friends. His family stated that “Shawn had a great sense of humor and was 
loved by many people, there will be a large void left by Shawn’s death.”
He was preceded in death by a son, Jordan Blansit, July 13, 1989; his father, Michael Prieur, 
1975; grandmother, Amanda Millard in 1999; and his grandfather, Earl “Pete” 
Blansit in 1982.
There will be no public visitation. A memorial service will take place on 
Tuesday, May 3 at 2:00PM at the United Methodist Church of Girard with Pastor 
John Scott officiating. 
A private interment of his cremains will take place at West Clarendon Cemetery.
