L.A. Dunham died quite suddenly at his home on Henry street last Sunday morning 
of heart disease. The previous day he had been on our streets apparently in his 
usual health. Going home to supper nothing unusual was observed until 9 
o'clock, when he complained of feeling ill and retired. From that time he 
rapidly grew worse and passed away at 1 o'clock the same night. Mr. D was born 
in December 1812, in Pennfield, N.Y., coming to Branch county with his family 
in 1879, residing for a time in Girard and Quincy townships, moving to this 
city several years ago. His funeral was attended at the M.E. church Tuesday 
morning, under the auspices of the masonic fraternity, of which he was a 
member. He was an honest, upright man, and leaves beside his wife a family of 
seven children--four boys and three girls--all grown to maturity.
