This copy contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives. burtf@msn.com 5th October at his residence in the township of Union, Branch County, Michigan in the 86th year of his age. Mr. Reynolds was born the 6th of May in 1786 near Providence, Rhode Island and was the last survivor of his father's house. In early life he gave his heart to God. He was a consistant christian, he lived his religion and his works were abundant evidence of his faith. His life was one of hardships and trials such as seldom falls to the lot of one man. He was one of the pioneer settlers of western New York, locating there previous to the war of 1812. He was driven from his home by the British and Indians suffering considerable loss. He eventually returned and for forty years aided in improving the country and ameliorating the condition of the inhabitants; in turn clearing land, tilling the soil, teaching school, etc. A man of strictest integrity, upright in his dealings with men. Few have enjoyed to a greater extent the respect and confidence of all that knew him. From New York he removed to this County where he resided to the time of his death. Beloved by all who knew him and leaves a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn his loss.
