Quincy Herald, Jan. 5, 1905
Jay L. Taylor, a former resident of Quincy, but for past twenty years residing 
at Elkhart, died at his home in that city last Friday, Dec. 30th at the age of 
68 years, 11 months and 12 days, as a result of pulmonary tuberculosis. The 
remains arrived here on the afternoon train Monday, accompanied by the family 
and other relatives. Members of Quincy Masonic Lodge assisted in the burial at 
Lakeview. At one time deceased conducted a general store here and for a time 
was operator at depot.
