BEAUREGARD Well Known Pioneer Resident of the City Died Today, Aged 78 Years Mrs. Oliver Beauregard, an old and respected resident of this city, died at the family home 24 Green Street, at the advanced age of 78 years. Mrs. Beauregard had been in ill health for over a year; the greater part of the time confined to her bed and in the past few weeks failed rapidly, the immediate cause of her death being general debility and old age. Thersil Daigneau was born in the Parish of Saint Pie, Province of Quebec, on March 24, 1828. In 1846 when but 18 years of age, she moved with her family to Vermont and on the 7th of March, 1850, was united in marriage to Oliver Beauregard. In 1853 Mr. and Mrs. Beauregard came to Battle Creek and located at 24 Green Street, which place has been their home since. Immediately following their arrival in Battle Creek, deceased united with the First M.E. Church and has always been a valued and faithful member. Three children were born, two daughters and one son. One daughter passed away in early infancy, and the son at the age of 24 years. Besides the aged husband, one daughter, Mrs. George Truitt of 171 Grenville Street, survives, also two brothers and three sisters; Jeremiah Daigneau of Salem, Mass, J.M. Daigneau, formerly of this city but now of Benton Harbor, Mrs. Adeline Larion, of Battle Creek, Mrs. Lucetta Bernier, of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Rose Menard, or Farnum, Province of Quebec. During her long residence in this city, deceased has gathered about her a large circle of friends who will deeply sympathize with the sorrowing husband and family. In compliance with the wishes of the deceased, private funeral services will be held at the residence, Sunday afternoon; Rev. P.J. Maveety officiating, the hour to be announced later. The remains will lie in state from ten to twelve o’clock Sunday morning, during which time the friends may dence, Rev. Maveety officiating. Interment was made in Oakhill.
