She graduated from Wadena High School, attended the college of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minnesota, and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, where she also did graduate work. Her professional career in Social Work began in Minnesota, and concluded at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. She served in the Red Cross during World War II doing medical social work at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri and Borden General Hospital, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She loved playing golf, Bridge, the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra and she was an avid reader. She enjoyed a good Martini. She was a devout Catholic and a 60-year member of St. Joseph Church, where she was past president of the Altar Society, St. Gerard's Circle; and a past president of the Lawyer's Wives of Calhoun County. She wintered in Cocoa Beach, Florida from 1976-1996. She was predeceased by her husband; her sister; her parents; much loved grandmother and 4 of her beloved aunts, Friends will be received by Margaret's family 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9th at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. John D. Fleckenstein at St. Joseph Catholic Church 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Following the Mass, Margaret will be cremated. Her cremains will be placed next to her husband at Memorial Park Cemetery, during a service for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Additional Comments: Birth Date & Names of Survivors have been deleted for privacy.
