(Halterman) Canfield passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Port Orange, FL, where she had been living since 2004. She was born and raised in Lombard, IL, where she met and married her husband, David H. Canfield. They moved to Battle Creek in 1955. Beside being a busy mother, she worked at The Garden Spot, Post Cereals, and Beech & Rich. She served in the PTA at Roosevelt School and volunteered as school librarian. She also led as a Bluebird leader. She was avid at knitting and sewing. She was a member of the Congregation Church where she served in the ladies Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Battle Creek Moose Lodge. In 1974 she was baptized and became one of Jehovahs Witnesses. Her passion was the study of the Bible and sharing her knowledge with others. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Canfield; her son-in-law, Phillip E. Bickel; 3 sisters; and a special grandchild, Nancy Carnell. According to her wishes, Cremation has taken place and there are no memorials planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to a charity of your choice.
