Battle Creek Enquirer Sept. 29, 1998
George L. Conine, 80, of Athens died Saturday, Sept. 26, 1998, at Battle Creek 
Health System.
He was born in Buckley to George and Melissa (McNees). He moved to Battle Creek 
in 1930 with his family and then moved to Athens in 1937. He was a farmer.

He is survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
He was proceded in death by brothers Roland Conine and Harold L. Conine both in 
1996; and sisters Viola Conine in 1921, Leona L. Mead in 1998 and Betty J. 
Vincent in 1997.

He enjoyed tractor pulls, 4 wheel drive sports, camping, traveling, swimming in 
his pond, landscaping, lawn tractors and breakfast outings on Sundays.

Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm Sunday and Monday at Spencer Funeral Home where 
the family will be present.

Services will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial: North Athens Cemetery
