He lived in Fort Myers, FL since 1994 and summered in Niles, moving from Battle Creek. He retired from HBJ Insurance Company in Battle Creek, MI. He earned his Bacholer's Degree in Music from the University of Miami, FL and a Master's Degree from Michigan State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1953-55 where he led the Army Band in Colorado Springs. He was an avid cornet player and played in the New Superior Jazz Band and while in Ft. Myers he played in the Sounds of Music and the Adhoc Jazz Bands. He married Edna M. (Jordon) Harrington in Battle Creek, MI, she preceded him in death on September 29, 1994. He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert John Harrington. The family will gather privately for services at a later date. Burial will take place at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles, MI. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to Battle Creek Elks Club. Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home.
