Battle Creek Enquirer
Beverly J. "Bev" "Daisy Mae" Hicks, age 83, of Battle Creek, died Thursday 
evening, August 16, 2007 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Bev was born in Battle Creek, and was a lifetime area resident. She retired in 
1976, after 20 years of faithful service to Eaton Corporation as a machinist. 
Bev enjoyed showing horses with her children in her younger days and her pride 
and joy was her Honda 750 CC motorcycle, but her passion was NASCAR Racing 
especially "The Intimidator" "#3", Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Sportsmen car racing.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her two daughters, Tojnia L. 
(Ellsworth) McGuire on May 1, 1981 and Chiquita K. (Ellsworth) Garrett on May 
4, 2001; and by her stepson, Robert Hicks.
Interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial contributions in Bev's honor may be made to the BC Animal Shelter, 29 
Hoag Street or the American Cancer Society.
