Battle Creek Enquirer Feb. 18, 1946
Mrs. Bernice E. Hudson, 56, wife of Walter Hudson and an employee at the Fish 
Service Laundry Co., died of a heart attack in her sleep about 4 a. m. Sunday 
in the home at 82 Harris avenue. Mrs. Hudson suffering from a heart condition 
for some time, had been critically ill with a severe cold about 10 weeks ago, 
but had recovered and returned to her work. She had worked Saturday morning. 
There be no inquest. 
She was born Wexford County, a daughter of Elihu and Fanny 
(Gregg) Hassam, and was married to Mr. Hudson Oct. 29, 1919 at Pomona, Manistee 
County. They came to Battle Creek in 1924. Besides her husband, she is survived 
by a daughter and two sons by a former marriage, seven grandchildren.
