Battle Creek Enquirer

Donald E. Letts, 80 of Battle Creek passed away Saturday August 18, 2007 at 
home.
He was born in Battle Creek to John E. and Hazel B. (Parrott) Letts. 
Donald graduated from Lakeview High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Army 
during WWII. Donald was the owner and operator of the Food Center Grocery on 
Main St. for 36 years until he retired in 1989. Donald was married to Betty 
Jones, then Julia Burkhard, and then Julie Harper, all had preceded him in 
death.
Donald was a former member of Lakeview Baptist Church, life member of Athens 
VFW Post, member of American Legion Post #298, Elks Lodge #131, and Eagles 
#299. He was also a member of Ira A. Beck Masonic Lodge #503 F. & A.M., Royal 
Arch Masons, Knights Templar #33, and Saladin Shrine & Mini Patrol.
Family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry 
Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday August 22, 
2007 with the Rev. Dr. Morris Anderson of Lakeview Baptist Church officiating. 
Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given 
to Saladin Shrine Foundation for Children or Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice.
