Battle Creek Enquirer
Jon D. Mackinder, 59, of Battle Creek, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, 
December 20, 2007.
Jon served his country as a member of the United States Navy Seabees, from 1968 
1972, serving one year in Vietnam. He had been employed in the Powerhouse at 
Ralston's for the past 34 years. 
Jon was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Florence Mackinder.
He was a member of the American Legion. Jon was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed 
fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed watching movies, playing cards (Cribbage, 
Euchre and Rummy), but most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. 
At the request of the family, they will receive friends 1:00 3:00 and 5:00 7:00 
p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. 
Funeral services to celebrate Jon's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, 
December 27, 2007 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Zuhl officiating. 
Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National 
Cemetery. Memorials made to Gideons International or Lifespan would be 
appreciated.
