He served for five years in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant during World War II and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Ralph was a member of the 20th Street Church of Christ. Ralph worked as a machinist for 31 years at Eaton Manufacturing, retiring in 1980. He was also a minister with the Church of Christ and enjoyed traveling to many area churches to teach about the Bible. He loved to read the Bible, play bingo, read poetry, play the harmonica, eat ice cream, be with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife, Della McCumsey, in 2002, six brothers and three sisters. Friends are welcome to visit Monday from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at Shaw Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to the 20th.
