Battle Creek

Clara May Osborne, 90, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, December 21, 
2015. She was born February 25, 1925 in Rutland, OH the daughter of Clarence 
Austin and Virgie May (Whealdon) Pierce. She married the late Harold Duane 
Osborne on September 5, 1964 in Munising, MI. Clara enjoyed dancing, plastic 
canvas arts, crafts, and traveling to Northern Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Richard Ellis, David Ellis, Linda Ellis, 
Virgie Ellis, Frances Crawford, Ashley Adams, and Charlotte Ellis; step-
children, Jim Osborne, Bill Osborne, Betty Ledbetter, and Marjorie Goins; 
brother, Carl Phillips; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sons, Harley 
Ellis, Guy Ellis, Carl Ellis, and Jim Blanchard; step children, Clarence 
Osborne and Evelyn Osborne; siblings, Violet VanVleet and Clarence Pierce; 
and granddaughter, Kim Osborne.

A committal services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the Floral Lawn 
Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel with burial to follow. Arrangements by the 
Bachman Hebble Funeral Service (269)965-5145
