Battle Creek Enquirer
Jeanne L. Rusan, 83, of Battle Creek died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Select 
Specialty Hospital.
She grew up in Battle Creek and attended Battle Creek Central High School.
In 1978, Jeanne retired from the Battle Creek Federal Center where she was employed
since the late 1950s. During that time she also worked for the government in Alaska. 
Prior to that, she was employed at the Air National Guard Base. 
She married Joseph D. Markusic in June of 1941. She was preceded in death by her 
first husband on July 8, 1945, while he was serving with the U.S. Army in
the Philippines; and by a sister, Ellamary Ivins.
Jeanne was artistically talented and loved arts and crafts, making jewelry, was 
a brush artist and accomplished at interior decorating. She loved playing cards 
and played over 2500 games of 500 Rummy the past few years, with her husband.
At the request of the family, friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the 
Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received 2:00-4:00 and 
6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 11:00 a.m. 
Saturday, July 7, 2007, with the Rev. Colleen Nelson officiating. Interment 
will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to 
the Humane Society-Calhoun Area.
