Battle Creek  Apr. 1974
  James P. Scanlan, 82, of 37 Kimber Ave., died Wednesday in Lakeview General 
Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday.
 He was a Battle Creek native and retired from Eton Corp. after 40 years of 
employment. He was a general foreman many years and retired as a shift 
superintendent.
 He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, the Eaton Quarter-Century Club 
and Queen City Council. Knights of Columbus.
 Survivors include his widow, the former, Vera L. Halfman: a son 
J. Pearce Scanlan of 243 Creekview Drive; a daughter,
Mrs. Robert (Catherine) .McCorkle of San Francisco; five grandchildren; 
greatgrandchildren, an a brother, William Scanlan 3430 M-66.
 Services will be held at 10:30, a.m.. Saturday at Jerome Catholic Church. 
Arrangements are by Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.

Buried in Memorial Park Cemetery.
