Battle Creek Moon Journal Sept. 17, 1937
Mrs. Louise Scanlan, 47, wife of James Scanlan, died at 1:30 a.m. today at her 
residence, 71 Harvard Avenue, following an extended illness. She had been in 
poor health for two years and was confined to her bed four months. Mrs. Scanlan 
was born Jan. 11, 1890, in Olivet, the daughter of William and Alberta 
(MacDonald) Fitzgerald.
She came to Battle Creek as a girl and had resided here for 35 years. Besides 
her husband, Mrs. Scanlan leaves a daughter, Catherine Fitzgerald and a son 
Pearce, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Alberta Fitzgerald, of 71 Harrison 
Avenue; and three sisters, Mrs. William Grubaugh of St. Johns, Mrs. William 
Moon, of 123 North Union Street, and Mrs. Charles Kendall, of 46 North McKinley 
Avenue.
 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hebbles Chaoel and Interment 
will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
