J. & M. Railroad in this city, received a dispatch yesterday stating that his son James who was a section foreman on the Litchfield, Canolton & Western R. R. at Litchfeild, ILL., was drowned at Keesport, ILL., Sunday. Last night David Haines left for that city to bring the remains home to the city. He will return with the body tonight. Funeral will occur tommorow. Deceased was 22 years old. #3 Battle Creek Moon Journal - June 27, 1890 James Sparrow, who was drowned at Keyesport, ILL., was a former resident of this city and was between twenty-three and twenty-four years of age. His remains were in such a condition that it was impossible to bring them here and they were buried in the Catholic grounds in Litchfield.
