"Bunny" Torres, 81, of Battle Creek, died July 10, 2007 at Battle Creek Health System. Philip served in the U. S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific Theater. He served with the 1st Division 11th Regiment from 1944 until 1946. He was at Guadalcanal on the Solomon Islands, Pavuvu on the Russell Islands, Okinawa on the Pyukyu Islands and Tient Sin in North China. Philip worked for Kellogg's for 43 years in the reclaim and processing departments, retiring in 1986. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Philip enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching baseball at Bailey Park and volunteered at many Pennfield sporting events. Per the family's request, there will be no funeral services.
