He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Alaska. He retired from Ameritech in 1989 after 34 years of service. For the past 14 years Edward worked at the ACO store in Pennfield. He was preceded in death by son, Patrick Thomas Vaughan; sister, Carol Vice; and grandson, Dan Michael Simon. Edward was inducted into the St. Philip Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998. He enjoyed serving as a football statistician for the St. Philip Tigers for many years and was a loyal member of the Catholic Athletic Association. He also was an MSU fan, enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer. Friends are welcome to visit from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Shaw Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Charles Fischer, officiating. Entombment, Memorial Park Mausoleum.
