Sally was born in Battle Creek on December 4, 1959, to James R. and Virginia E. (Bates) Atchley. She attended St. Philip and Battle Creek Central High Schools. Sally was employed in production at American Fibrit. Surviving are her children, James R. Atchley Edgell of Madison, WI and Fah'tia Atchley Edgell and Shayna Atchley Edgell both of Janesville, WI; two grandsons; her father James R. Atchley of Battle Creek and Tampa; two sisters, Mary M. Vasquez and Patricia "Tish" (Edward) Bell both of Battle Creek; a brother, Tom Atchley of Battle Creek; step-brothers and sisters, Judy (Joe) Markovich, Patti Hill, Jim Magers, Mary Lynne (Mike) Miles, Mike (Debbie) Magers, and John (Anne) Magers, nieces, nephews and cousins. Sally was known for her good sense of humor; everyone she met was her friend and welcomed to her home; and she was generous to a fault. She loved family gatherings and holiday dinners. Sally enjoyed playing Bingo and the scratch-off lottery tickets. A graveside committal service was officiated by Fr. Francis Marotti of St. Philip Catholic Church at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012. A memorial service is being planned this Spring and will be announced by the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family Health Center or the Bronson Battle Creek Cancer Care Center Medication Fund.
