Frank P. Parker, janitor at the city jail, died Sunday morning at four o'clock at the family residence, 138 North Union Street, and his mother, Mrs. Julia P. Parker, passed away on Sunday night at ten. Mr. Parker was 56 years of age and had been ill but a week. The mother, who was the widow of the late William L. Parker, was 76. She had been in ill health for five or six years, but on February 22 took to her bed. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ogden Green, were pioneers of Battle Creek, Green Street being named for the family. Mrs. Parker was a member of the Maple Street M. E. church, and was once actively engaged In work there, but failing health compelled her to give It up. Her hus- band will be remembered as having; been sexton at Oak Hill cemetery for years. Surviving members of her family are a daughter, Mrs. Ida M. Kocher of Lansing and two sons, Edward U. Parker of this city and William O. Parker of Lansing. A double funeral will be held from the home, 138 North Union street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. William chapman, pastor of the Maple Street M/H. church, in charge. Committal will be made at Oak Hill cemetery.
