This monumental inscription is for Harriet Augusta Grant,daughter of Caleb and 
Philura (Peabody) Grant.  She was the cousin of Abby M. Palmer since their 
mothers, Mary Peabody and Philura (or Lura) Peabody were sisters.  She was 
sent to help the widower Dr. Gallup when Abby died.  Within a year they 
married.  The inscription reads: Harriet A. Grant/Wife of Benj. A. 
Gallup/Born/At North Stonington, Conn./Dec.24,1834/Died/Dec.13,1900.
