Adams Family Monument. 
The Quote Reads: 
They were among the First Settlersof this then wilderness vicinity in A. D. 
1834. He with his Brother, Ansel, founded the Village of Burlington in A. D. 
1836, Erected the first mills and participated in the earliest improvement of 
this then Township of Athens. They lived in peace with all men and died 
unassailed by slander and free from reproach.
