DIED
	Sunday morning March 3rd, 1889, at her residence in Howard township, Cass
County, Mrs. Margaret Grice wife of Daniel Grice, aged 61 years 1 month and 15
days.
	Thus has closed the life of one of the early settlers of Southwestern Michigan.
 Miss Margaret Duncan, was born in Virginia January 15th 1828, and remove to
Michigan with her parents, when but a child, where she has since resided.
	She was married to Mr. Daniel Grice Dec. 24th, 1846, thus completing a marriage
union of more than 43 years.  For 42 years they have lived in the home where she
breathed her last.  To them were born eight children, five of whom are now
living, one son and four daughters, and though grown to manhood and womanhood
yet as the last sand dropped from the hour glass and the heart grew still, they
felt that peculiar sadness that the motherless child always feels.
	Mrs. Grice was an exceedingly kind hearted and affectionate wife and mother. 
Her influence has for the most part been felt in her household, and here she
will be remembered with a most tender fidelity.
	She will long be remembered not only in her home but also by her many friends
and neighbors who by years of acquaintance have learned her many virtues.  She
suffered for many years, though not particularly confined to her bed until
shortly before her death.
	The funeral text was Luke XII: 40, 41, 42.

Mrs.  Margaret Grice, wife of Daniel Grice, died in Howard township yesterday,
of blood poisoning, age 61 years.  She leaves five children.
