Gordon R. Leich, 69, R7, Dowagiac, died Wednesday at Lee Memorial Hospital
following a three-week illness.
He was born June 25, 1902 in Volinia Township and was the son of Henry G. and
Emma Weaver Leich. He married the former Berdine Lybarker at Niles on April 29,
1943.
He was a life-long resident of Cass County and was most recently employed at
Daisy-Heddon for six years and retired on March 1, 1971. He was previously
employed at the Dowagiac Steel Furnace Co. for a number of years and also by the
city.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. James (Bonita) Gantt of Niles
and Mrs. Roy (Florence) Kraft of Dowagiac; one son, Dean G. Leich of Dowagiac;
six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted G. Leich of
Decatur; two sisters, Cora Kent of Decatur and Mrs. Minor (Edna) Gebhard of
Edwardsburg; three nieces, one nephew and several cousins.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Romig Funeral Home in Marcellus with
the Rev. John Hall, pastor of the Volinia Baptist Church, officiating. Burial
will be in Rosehill Cemetery at Nicholsville.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Homig Funeral Home.
