John Youngs, 74, of 23198 Hospital Street, Cassopolis, Michigan, died Tuesday, 
January 5, 1999, at 9:05 P.M., in his home of an extended illness.  He was born 
May 22, 1924, in Vandalia, Michigan, and had lived his entire life in the 
Cassopolis area.  He was a retired farmer and had also served as the Vandalia 
Postmaster.He was a proud Navy veteran of World War II.  John married the 
former Marian I Kiner, December 29, 1975.  She survives, with a daughter, Dian 
Hamby.  Also surviving are one grandaughter, two grandsons and eight great-
grandchildren, one stepdaughter and two stepsons, seven step-grandchildren and 
by three step-great-grandchildren.  John is also survived by four sisters and 
four brothers.  A funeral service will be held Saturday morning at Pleasant 
View Chourh of Christ, where John was a member,.  Officiating will be Rev. 
Larry Settle.  Interment will be in Poe Cemetery, where military honors will be 
rendered
